Hi, i am working on a UZZ30 Soarer in brisbane. I work (too much) in rental cars, and fit in time as and when i can before going to night shifts. I started with the brakes and suspension (best place to start), and will play with the engine a bit later.

Hi, still got the soarer. It now has a silver bonnet, front bar, and passenger guard on a white car. I have put in 4 pot calipers from a 95/96 Celsior, (and painted them red). It has a set of Stamford SSW 18x8 +35 with 235/40/18 all around. It has lowered king springs with KYW shocks. I had the ball joints refurbished with the drill and squirt method, and he even installed grease nipples. I have put in a 50+mm thick radiator, and installed a new aluminium overflow on a custom mount,(alum. strip from bunnings with drill holes) and installed an ATF cooler, on a similar custom mount. I currently am doing the water pump / timing belt / t.belt rollers / hydraulic belt tensioner. The right side (driver's side) cam gear jumped a tooth, and figured id do it as i had the parts ready. It's on 173k now, and was running well even after it jumped a tooth, just power restricted over about 3500rpm. It took me and a mechanic a couple guesses to realise it jumped a tooth.

Hello there to everyone, just trying to find my way around this site (newbie). I've just bought a 1996 Soarer 1jz vvti which I'm cleaning up. I had a 1993 gtt a few years ago and never really recovered after selling it. Anyway I'm happy again. This new car doesn't have any mods and I'll probably keep it that way, I'm getting on in years (72) and not really into rolling around on the garage floor anymore. I've got a couple questions to do with the slip control off warning light off and overdrive off both flashing. The car drives great. I've read on here about the throttle control ecu. Does anyone know where i can get one and what i should be paying it. Cheers Gdad
