Hello everyone, I have been a member for many years now but this is my first post. I am Melbourne based but now spend most of the year in Phuket and Mainland Thailand and neighbouring Countries. I have owned my UZZ32 since 2000 and it has been a love affair both up and down, but I will never part with it as it is the best vehicle I have ever driven. I leave it in Melbourne while I am away and for the past 10 years it has been out in the weather hence the clear coat is really bad on the bonnet, roof and boot so now it definitely needs a respray to bring it back to how it was when I got it. It still looks good from the sides and there are only a couple of small thumb print size dents that can be pulled out quite easily. All I need is somewhere to store it under cover and it will get a new coat of paint, it has been a pain in the but leaving it with friends who store it but don't take care of it but I have no choice at the present time.

Hello Tai, I have enquired with Tint A Car about doing just that about 2 years ago, they said it would need to have a good shiny finish to Wrap it and it was quite expensive. I thought of giving it a go myself but don't spend enough time in OZ to track down a good supply of DIY Wrap. Well the finish at the moment is mat if you could call it that at best. I suppose a light sand to remove the flaking clear coat then a very light sand say 1000 or 1200 grit and then clear coat it. I think spray cans might be available these days that would work but I haven't checked with any of the Automotive paint shops yet. I have no idea what is required to wrap a car other than applicators, clear surface and a heat gun of some type, as I have never seen wrap applied other than on videos. I have done a lot of spray painting so I could spray clear coat good enough for wrapping as I have done a lot of spray painting in the past that required a perfect finish not something that will be covered over that no one will see. Any ideas would be appreciated. regards Barry
