if its only at the drags, and its auto, whats stopping your from disconnecting your speedo sensor at the box to avoid speed-cut?

| hey....c'mon....i just got mine converted to manual, and been driving around all week without a speedo. so far, i've noticed that A) my odometer isnt changing - seriously considering driving around for the next few years without a speedo, just learn to judge my speed by revs and what gear im in, and then when i sell - "yeah, she's only done 150 000 kms!" , and B) logically, i wouldnt have speedcut so shoot me, i forgot about that whole automatic-ecu-changing-gears-thingy

Tiptronic conversion for the auto may work. They were around $350. Then you could use something like an RSM or Jaycar pulse adjuster to stop the ECU from spoiling the fun. Shane, I can get you a dash with 86,000k's on it for sale purposes

Blake, What sort of tyre pressures are you running? I have a 5sp with similar mods except the cams, and the best i have run was a 14.04 with axle tramp all through 1st, and max speed of around 165 on the line. Any help anyone. My car should run a lot faster right? I have 255BHP.

Dosen't matter how much power you have if you shift slow, (not saying you do) but the 2 seconds may be through gear shifts??? Or excessive wheel spin off the line?? |

Adam: for reference sake a jza70 manual with 266rwhp with twin dumps, 3" exhaust, FMIC, CAI and 14psi went 12.80@108 with 1.89 60 foot. Got to sort those launches.

Adam, had drag radials on the car, running about 18-20 psi. My terminal speed compared to yours suggests a significant power difference. The auto gets the power down smoothly,no axle tramping.the shift kitted trans is worth half a second. it all adds up. put sticky tyres on,dump the clutch at 5500 rpm,and you would be gone- outa there. 13.5 at a guess.

Good time, not too many mods for such a good MPH. Blake, you would have at least a 12.7 in there I think, your 60 foot time could come down a lot if you are running drag radials. I've run a 2.08 on my street tyres and 17 inch rims so you've probably got another couple of tenths to gain depending on how laggy your set up is probably.

'Just a little lumpy' hehehe sheep in wolfs clothing Just looking back on your run, did well. I rekon it'd run slower with 264's. All you need now is a tune and your set.

Next mod should definitely be a stally. Get that 60ft down to 1.9 or 1.8 Theoretically 2.0 60 = 12.50ET 1.9 60 = 12.30ET 1.8 60 = 12.10ET So there you go. 1.9 60ft to take top spot on the stock turbo list Also, the current no. 1 is also the quickest on www.supraforums.com which is an American site. Typically US guys are pretty damn good at drag racing.

I presume the faster launch means a higher trap speed also? Is it really 0.1 seconds = 0.2 seconds drop?

No the 60ft rule factors in the amount of additional power you will need to make that 60ft time. So basically at 111mph there is definite improvement in ET from 12.94. 111mph is good for 11’s in a v8 with slicks because of the launch. So if you can trap the 111mph and get the 60ft to drop my .1 then the ET should drop by .2. That is how the theory goes anyway. It seemed to be true in my limited experiences though

yes me again,12.778 sec @ 109.77mph.13psi boost. 60' time 1.920sec. same specs as last time, but 2psi less boost, and better launch! masterton motorplex,nz. earlier today.note:standard turbos.

yeah it is fine, just idles slightly lumpy. AFR is very rich, which i keep like that to try to stave off detonation. I have a massive advance problem that no one has figured out the cause of. Changed ECU,still detonating, no faults showing up on diagnostics. Detonation is why i only ran 13 psi, not 15psi as before.

Maybe one of the Cam sensors is sending a faulty signal? Changing the ignition timing? Something to look at. Must be cam related if it only started with the new cams.
