Hi all, I'm a newbie to Soarer Central, you've got a great little community going here. This week I will be taking possession of a pearl white 91 TT, been looking forward to this for so long! She comes with 18" Work mesh wheels, Greddy turbo timer, big FMIC, HKS pod and BOV, Sony CD and Minidisc headunits, upgraded rear brakes with new pads, new tyres and freshly rebuilt dash. Its coming with a couple of original wheels, 4 spare turbos and a bunch of spare interior parts. She's done 119,000kms and is in super clean nick, all for the princely sum of $10k with 12 months rego and rwc. I'm pretty stoked and can't wait! Here are sum pix...

Thanks guys. Yeah I've fixed up my profile now, I was looking at a UZZ31 couple weeks ago and needed to put in model number to join up, but she's a TT. I'm picking it up tomorrow night so can't wait. In regards to rules about p-platers driving turbo / sc / v8 cars, you are allowed to if they are under the power to weight ratio. The soarer scrapes in due to the weight of the car - never thought i'd be so happy to have a heavy car... I am expecting some cop attention however, especially living in a crap country town and the "hottest" thing on the streets is a standard Lancer riced to the max.

Actually it doesn't quite scrape through, just checked the specs, however it doesn't feature on the VicRoads restricted vehicles list. Shhh... I won't tell if you don't ;-)

Jeff and Benny for the turbo/v8 new restriction rule, it only applys for people who got there license FROM the 11th of july 2005, any P platers before that dont have those restrictions

We do have different rules. Here it is just a power to weight ratio of 125kw/tonne and some engine capacity to weight ratio, which all versions of the soarer easily apply to.
I believe that the turbo comes in around 130kw/tonne from memory, hence why I got my V8, which sits around 115kw/tonne. I hope no one notices for your sake.

Thanks for the welcome guys. Yes, went and picked it up from Ballarat last night after work, and I must say that it was worth the wait to finally get my Soarer. I'm pretty stoked to say the least! It's got a Sony (not Xplod) head unit and also minidisc player. I'll be replacing these with a dvd player / lcd very shortly, PM me if interested.
I had a look through the spares that came with the car tonight, from what i can remember: 4x stock turbos 2x original wheels (bald tyres) 1x space saver (all good) Big intercooler (760mm x ??? I think, brand new, not installed due to rwc) HKS BOV (as above) Intercooler piping Original airbox & filter Original shifter Brand new fuel filter Throttle body (I think, from what I could see in the box without taking everything out.) Assorted brackets and other crap I don't know where goes.

Yeah sounds good. I'll be moving to Ballarat next year for Uni so no doubt you will see it around a lot... How often is there Soarer cruises around (eg Geelong, Melbourne etc) cos I'd be keen for one.

Sheeeeeet man! I got quoted a smidge under $3000 for full comprehensive, decided that was ridiculous and am just staying with 3rd party f+t through Just Car. Think its costing about $420 or so...

From ballarat too, and have had my soarer for 3 weeks now...
My baby is a TT - putting out between 220 - 260kw :p I was told 300kw, but the turbos have been wound back just a tad, to make it less illegal to drive on my p plates.
But insurance, hot damn, $3000 and $3960 = nuts Im still on my p plates, will be until november, but insurance for me is only costing me $1545, thats full comp as well.
