I MUST be getting old, but looking at Henry, I'd rather keep him and get a "Fixer-upper" Snoarer on the side, and just tinker with it.
There's a chap up the road from us who also owns a MINT XW Fairmont, in the ORIGINAL light green metalic. Has the following options: Power windows, Power steering, Air con plus a few other rarities. Only mods are chrome 12 slots, and the obligatory twin exhausts. He inherited it from his Father, who bought it NEW from South Auckland Motors (Ford dealer), and it was a special import from Oz, as XW & XY Fairmonts didn't have power steering in NZ.
He has been offered $20k(NZD) for it, but won't sell it for various reasons.

If I could afford to do that I would, but unfortunately I have been burnt on an investment property to the tune of $196K so I can not afford to keep both. Ideally, I would love to put it in storage, empty the oil and water and leave it.

Painful is not the word, thats why I stated in my first post how unsure I am about purchasing one. I love the vehicles but I dont have a endless money supply (I know, now does) but if I got one only to find it needs heaps of $$ work, it will break me. The one I found in Sydney has been offered for $8K, at least I know what mechanical problems exist. There is this one also, he will take $11K as is with "minor" known problems.
Hi Greg I remembered you call me about my 96 model soarer. I know you are looking at the lower priced cars, buying one out of the club is buyer be ware. Ollie car would be serviced by Neil would know it backwards too. So if you are after a good car with out the dollars to spend on it go and see Ollie and take it for a drive to see a real Soarer goes, not like the dog dealers ones are!
Ollie, Neil had Gary call me and he asked about my car, it was out of he's price range. Ollie can you email me you phone number as like to talk to you!
