Hello, Ive finally got my act together and really made an effort to get a soarer. Im looking to get a fairly stocko TT soarer preferrably with little or no mods and looking for low k's and a tidy and clean car.
Also if any one could tell me what kind of faults to look for when buying one it would be much appreciated, I know all the basic common fixes like cracked doors and bleeding A/C screen, but i would be interested in learning what are some of the major faults that cost a lot to fix.
Im looking to spend around 9-10 so please if you see anything worth following up let me know.

Thanks for the help guys ive research this forum a fair bit and i wrote up a questionnaire and i have been ringing and enquiring to people and asking them all the same questions then giving each advertiser a score out of 20. This has helped my decision greatly, it is amazing what people will reveal over the phone but will not put on there ad. I have it down to a couple of cars and I am having my favourite out of them engineered, Lets hope the engineer brings back some positive feedback
cheers, Matt

Hi everyone, I know some of my questions may seem to be really dumb, but please, I am a blonde and a brand new soarer owner. Does anyone know if the 91 Soarer Limited has supposed to have keyless entry? Mine doesn't work and I have had the battery replaced in the key. I don't want to get scratches near the keyhole when fumbling in the dark to unlock the door manually. Also, even with 2 expanders in the radio, I can't pick up any radio stations, any suggestions (if it is possible) to remedy that?. I've just found a lot of info on your website, thank goodness someone has translated it into English. I thought I would have to do a Japanese language course to get the best out of my dream car (I would have done it too!).

Sirpa. Most of your questions will be answered if you do a search for that topic but if you still can't find what you are looking for then most of us will try to help.

Most of the original keys don't work, possibly disconnected during compliance. Most insurance companies want an immobiliser fitted, and they usually come with keyless entry - and alarm if required.
Could be any number or reasons why the radio doesn't work, that will need further investigation. Is it both FM and AM that don't work?

Also, though I am sure you have already, check the Keyless Entry switch is switched on. Its under the dash above your right knee, near the boot locking button and boot & fuel cap releases. Even my pov pack V8 had keyless entry, so I'm sure all limiteds would have too. Mine had been replaced with a remote alarm system though.
Not sure about the radio - do both of the expanders have a good power source? Perhaps they aren't earthing properly?

Sirpa, the keyless entry on a lot of these cars fail to work due to the key or the receiver box for it having a bad solder joint in them. From what I am told the keys are usually in need of some TLC to get the system working.
