First of all I can't believe it took me so long to find this site!! I coulda picked up so many tips and bargains from here!! I've owned my soarer for almost a year now, despite not one of my mates actually respecting my ride. (They're into R&R: Riceline's and Rotary's) I am the very proud owner of a 1991 Black TT. Currently the car has full Lexus grey leather conversion, 3" dual mandrel bent exhaust system with dump pipe, high flow cat etc, Front mount with custom piping, custom built airbox and uni filter, Greddy: turbo timer, boost gauge and boost controller set to 10psi, steel wheel conversion on both turbo's, a set of enkei tarmac evo (hollow spoked) rims (9" rear (245's) 8" front (235's)). M&V complete rebuild of gear box with stage 1.5 kit, 3000rpm stally, upgrade of primary clutch packs and installation of secondary set, B&M fan cooled oil cooler with thermo switch to keep my box in mint condition. My licence is currently suspended for 6 months (until Novemeber 10th)so I've been building the beast in preparation for a single turbo conversion. The box was the first step, I've recently purchased a T4 manifold, walbro 255L/hr fuel pump and a tial 44mm wastegate with 1.3bar spring set up. I still need to buy JUN cam gears and cam shafts (264 degree with 9.3mm lift intake and exhaust), 700-800cc injectors, Greddy e-manage ultimate (should be buying this week)and of course the turbo!! This has been the source of much of my mental anguish of recent. So far considerations include Gt35r, Gt40r, Gt42r, T04R, T04Z, T88 34D and of course there are a bucket load of AR sizes to consider!! I want maximum power and reliability with minimal lag. I am leaning towards the T04Z and the GT42R at present as I don't want the turbo to one day become the restricting factor of my set up. After having read articles in here I am leaning towards an AR under or about 1.00 (depending of course on what is available on the turbo selected) to minimise lag while not sacrificing too much HP. The car is currently getting a respray on the rear however upon it's return I'll post pictures up here for you all to see. I'll also keep all interested parties up to date with my conversion and any dramas or points of interest that I stumble upon along the way. I hope to meet some of you guys out and about at some stage (after Nov 10th!!). That's my life story hope you enjoyed it

Marc,

Looking forward to seeing the pics or your ride.

Being a V8 owner I can't help with choice of turbo's, but enjoy all the information and hopefully others will chip in with their experiences.

Yeah some dude rear ended me a while ago and well when it got repaired the sprayers must've left some thinner on a bogged section because it wrinkled my paint (looks like all the moisture has been sucked out of it kinda like how your fingers go after you've been in water for too long) so I returned it and made them spray it again properly this time!!

Yeah will definitely be attending as many events as possible when she's finished. The girlfriend might be driving her however until the licence returns :-(
