Heyhey from Kiwiland . Got me a new toy! Its my 91' 4.0GT in gold with 17" Mak's and straight pipes - oh, she sounds nice! I was test driving 300zx's for a few weeks and was keen on a nice green 94' model, then this Soarer came up and I though, well, its worth a drive....holy crap! I had shaking hands when I got out of it - its so friggin fast, I can't believe it. A strong bourbon and a cheque for $6k and she's all mine. I'm wondering why I even bothered looking at the Nissans. Anyways, having a real blast with her. I'm on the North Shore in Auckland, so any local Kiwi's who see me around, feel free to wave me down for a natter - damn I love these cars!

Thanks Pete - Yep, the pipes are nice. Inside the cockpit with the windows up you can only head the drone, but with them down and the sunroof open it sounds like a V8 supercar (especially when you floor it!). The sweetspot between idle and around 2500rpm sounds very growly - moving off at traffic lights always gets a few envious looks.
Don Bagnall Moderator New Zealand I have LESS Soarers than Hayden :-(

Cheers guys. I will contact you later Don for those links, always keen on car stuff. I must admit, I am quite glad I passed on the Zed car. I have seen heaps around town with serious problems and I was slightly nervous about the one I had decided on.
Funny you mention about the rear-end/wet issue - tonight I was coming home from the dairy getting milk (any excuse to take her our for a blat, eh) and I did a U turn on the wet road and whoah daddy!!! The tail broke loose and I nearly spin it right around! Gave the bird driving a Honda Civic towards me a heart attack by the look on her face . Its very touchy on the loud pedal.

Cheers Nathan. It needs a good clean-up (little bits’n pieces missing and I'm slowly doing all the basic maintenance), but the car is very straight and the running gear is strong. Turns out one of biggest problems with the Soarer's is they don't break, so its super difficult to find them at wreckers yards.
