If you have a go, you might also want these instructions (from this site's tutorials) on changing the colour of your display. http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/9739/62802.html?1145595811 Neil does them in multiple funky colours . Use Search and you should find a series of pictures of different displays if you want some ideas on how yours could look. If you are not doing it yourself then your repairer should know about it and you may as well make it look good while it is out anyway.

Jordon - as much as I'm a fan of doing as much work on your car as possible, if you're not overly mechanically or electrically minded/skilled, Reagan at DCI up in Wangarra will fix the blinki-dash problem for you in an hour, drive-in drive-out, for something ridiculous like $80-$100. It was a job I had been putting off tackling myself for a while, because I knew it would take me a couple of hours, and is pretty fiddly.
Distincitve Car Imports - 0411 733 211. 7/73 Buckingham Drive, Wangarra. They are very knowledgeable when it comes to Soarers.

Just for clarity, I have done very little of the work on my car . Most of the time I stand around admiringly while Neil or Mark do their thing and hand over money at the end. Works for me, but it depends a bit on your constraints and priorities

David - unfortunately for me, still being on a student budget, $$$ are something I am in short supply of, whereas time is something I can often afford - for most people, the opposite is more the case.
Combine this with an above-average mechanical knowledge, and I'm usually not afraid to tackle most mechanical tasks on the car (hell, I did a single-turbo and manual conversion in the front carport over 6 months) but I am fully aware that most of the time, I will take 2 or 3 times as long as someone who knows 100% what they're doing, and occasionally will have to go back and correct a mistake/something I missed
However, when it comes to fiddly electrical-type stuff, this is where more often than not I elect to pay to have the job done quickly and properly the first time.
