Ten years ago today, Soarer Central was opened to the public. Before that there were a few months work in preparation with assistance provided by a small number of helpers/critics to create the forum that became Soarer Central. It's been 10 years of sharing help and information, getting help from others, and enjoying being part of what has to be a unique member forum all based on our love of Soarers. At it's peak, we were getting over 400 posts each and every day. The fervour has died down a lot, but there are still a lot of people posting regularly and many many more that read. I don't know how many of us will still have Soarers in 10 years time, but I intend to keep the forum online even if it's just as a trove of information. Thanks to all the members that have contributed and made this forum such a great community. Here's to the next 10 years! Cheers, Peter

I hope you keep it alive. It has become a repository for a few of us track car guys. It would be a shame to lose all that info. Between here and Peter Scott's Planet Soarer I can usually find everything I need. If I want a quick opinion I use Facebook, but feel obliged to post up on here (usually in my track car thread) as well. I have had my red Soarer for over 12 years now. I plan to drive it into the ground as I cant yet buy a better car for whatever the resale value is. As time goes on I think the site might become a fix it guide/Q and A for the cars more than a opinion sharing forum. Although if they start billing for facebook I'll drop it like a hot stone and waste my evenings here again. I suppose I should get back to making tutorials again, as I have been lazy on that front.

As already said, thanks Peter for a wealth of info for IMHO, one of the best cars ever made(big statement, but thats the way I feel.) I have tried to be Soarer free, but cant come at that at the moment. I have made a very good friend out of this forum, and met a few others that share the same Soarer passion. I just hope I am around in 10 years to be making further comments.

Thanks Peter for everything, We at Z20Soarer.Org would like to congratulate you on this big milestone. Ten years is a big stretch for anyone on the Internet these days. Like you we're in that same boat. Although we're only nearly 7 years old now over at Z20Soarer.Org much like you I'm still dedicated to keeping the archive of information public and alive. We've dropped a bit in numbers over the years too but hey, our cars are getting fewer and fewer now so It's to be expected Once again congrats on a great achievement and the dedication you've shown to the community! *thumbs up* Chris Stevens Z20Soarer.Org Founder & Administrator

Great website. Very rarely does anyone ever think what it would cost to keep a website like this going and the time put into. Be more then happy to chip in before I see this forum disappear. Without this website honestly I would still be scratching my head trying to figure out why my car doesn't run right. A good bunch of blokes willing to help out. This forum is a wealth of information. I love my Soarer.

Here's a big thank you to all those who have contributed tutorials/data/answers/how to's/group buys, etc to Soarer Central and to Peter for keeping this great repository of information online. I still remember poring through the forum when I bought my car in 2005. I would have thought the forum was ten years old then due to its size.

I'm Glad to be a part of this forum group in all the years of having owned my Soarers, not only reading, but also learning but giving and sharing my knowledge with others. It is a very informative and also a very civilized forum. I think we need to begin making a Soarer reference, A Wiki covering every Topic that has been discussed over the years and collate all information into it, it will help new Soarer owners get information easily, in the absense of the previous Era where it was more active.

I've had my Soarer for about 10 years now and intend to keep her going for many years to come. Cheers |

Hi Peter, well done. I bought my Soarer about this time last year. I went in blind not knowing much about these cars, but I liked the look (2 door coupe V8), nice clean lines and plenty of modern gadgets. Nothing else like this, in this price range available. This site has been a bible of information and also the knowledge from everyone that continue to contribute on a daily bases, has helped me learn so much about these cars and makes me appreciate owning one. This is to say thank you, 10 years is a long time, but it is because of the contributors in this site, that these cars are still going. Lets hope these cars keep going for another 10 years and more.

I got an email from soarer central with this 10 year site thread, first time I'd seen anything from this site in years. Started to look around, see some familar faces are still here, some new ones. I have to say in the 4 years (Sold in 2008) I owned my soarer this site helped me so much in making that ownership some of the best memories for a car I've ever owned, and I've had a few sports cars. My last sports car, 2010 WRX which I sold 4 months ago, I attempted to go on the WRX forum as a new proud owner when I first got it and all they did was harass and make fun of my choice of buying that car, they nick named it at the time "Betty". I lasted a week on that site and never returned. I can see now why people think WRX owners are wankers, because majority of the time they are right, they are wankers. However this forum, met some great people and shared a lot of stories, and helped out when I could along the way. That couldn't have happened without the right people running this site. Congrats Peter.

| Great to see some familiar names back on here! Thanks Peter you really put in some shifts moderating and maintaining this excellent resource. I know that you put in the work despite the challenges that life can invariably throw at you when you least expect it. You deserve some sort of award! Thanks also to all those here and everyone else on this site who took the time to share their hints, tips, stories and more. I am most grateful for the assistance I received from here over the years. So thank you all. I still have my Soarer and I don't think I'll ever part with it even if I eventually get another car. It's just a damn nice car and I probably sunk too much money into it anyway - but boy have I got my money back in pure driving pleasure over the years! Cheers Peter and thanks again!

Peter, every time someone replies to this post, I get an email i.e. lots of emails. Can you fix this, as I've never subscribed to the thread? Wow, nice to hear from you Ben! For any newbies, Ben was legend back in the day, putting a garrett gt3076 on, which gave slightly better spool up than stock turbos, and 320kw with plenty of boost shoved up it. Pulled some very good drag times on sticky mickys. 11.4sec from memory

Peter, I must add my congratulations on your skill and perseverance running this site. I've had my 1991 Limited for nearly 10 years now and had no idea the site was so new when I first found it. Living in Africa I'd never have been able to keep the car going without knowledge gleaned from the site and from the Bible (which I discovered through the site). I've seen other Soarer sites too, of course, but I've always liked the layout of this one and the off-topics were often fun too! I've often wished I were closer to Australia to be able to take part in the search for parts - there are many more there than in the UK which is where I have to get most of my stuff. I hope you had a celebratory drink on the anniversary!

Thank you also from me for putting together and maintaining this site. Without there are many problems that I would either not have been able to solve, or would have taken me longer, or cost me more to have someone else sort out. I have owned my 1991 V8 Soarer for about eight years now and have no plans to 'upgrade' to anything newer, mainly because I have not yet found anything of comparative value.
