Hi Guys,
Steve is currently building my 1.5 JZ and showed me my radiator yesterday. It's ill and needs to be replaced.
The cheapest I can source a new stock TT rad is about $440AUS but I'm wondering if I should be looking at upgrading. Greenline do a nice copper 3-row job for approx $1100AUS and there are some aluminium 3-row ones on Japanese Ebay which look as though I could get one for approx $700AUS.
The car will be putting out big power when the engine is finished but only in short (hopefully less than 11 seconds) bursts. I can't find any info on coolant flow rates and I'm wondering if the engine coolant makes a full "revolution" of the engine in that period. If it doesn't, would an upgrade be worthwhile?

I'd say if its only Dyno's and Quarter mile racing you are going to be doing, then a NEW stocker will be fine. BUT if you want to include some TRACK time, then i would go the Copper 3 row one. Copper is better with transfer of heat as opposed to aluminium.

When my radiator went I got myself one from PWR, it was $995AUS delivered to my door. Its all alloy aluminium with a heavy duty core. Its 20mm thicker than the standard radiator and so far has proved its worth.

Just picked up an aftermarket radiator for my car for $470, aluminium with 3yrs warranty. Old one had a hole in it and was also 50% clogged. The difference is remarkable!
