Iv never really driven my soarer hard but the last few days iv been giving it a flogging round town and noticed it really doesnt want to rev past 4000rpm and when it does it doesnt seem to make any more power, is this right? Does the power band thin out around 4500? Or is something wrong?

Thanks Callum... tried an ecu reset but i will try again.
Its not that it loses power but it doesnt seem to make any more power as it climbs the rev range. If it counts i have a bfi, cat back exhaust and crappy bleed boost control. Usualy the warmer the car gets the worse it performs, after a long hot drive it doesnt want do anything, comes on boost but makes little power even in the lower rev's.
in other possibly related problems... ocssionaly whilst still reasonbly cold the idle drops to about 400rpm and you can hear it wanting to stall... every so often it does stall.
Any chance the "crappy bleed boost control" could be effecting it? Opening wastegates or something? I don't quite know, but BFI, Catback Exhaust should be increasing in power in the rev range.

Are you guys maybe just feeling the acceleration in the mid range and then feeling like it drops off? You're generally not going to get the same acceleration right through a gear and it will feel like it tapers off to an extent.

Not a chance mate, she should be pulling hard and fast right up to 7000.

Done a few experiments! If I want it to rev past 4000 i need to really pump it... pushing my foot down at a normal rate (eg. pulling out onto a freeway) the car will happlily run up to 4500 but then it does not want to move any further... if i want to get the revs up even higher i need to plant it.
however if i find a quiet strech of road and floor it from stand still she revs out no worries (altho it doesnt sound happy)
