very true about the transfer case. My mate has a r32 GTR and he's running low 14s with PowerFC exhaust 16psi. Turns out his transfer case is stuffed.

Good luck, it'd be fair to say that 90%+ of GTR's in this country have had their ass thrashed off. :-(

Sort of Sam, but not really.

At Calder park you line up down the pit lane waiting to drag in two long lines.

If you have a friend that is behind you or 1-2 cars away, you can get out of your car and ask the offical if he will send through other cars so you can race a certain person. Although, don't expect you can line up, and say "I want to race tha GTR that is 100 cars down the queue"

Do you get me?

i am new to this club, but all i wanted to say to Sam Koek is i have raced a 2003 M3, and with my probs on the car such as leaking turbo dump pipe, Exhaust manifold and much more i munched it by half a bonet length, if the car just was in its original condition he would have no chance.

I dragged an R32 GTR on the freeway tonight. 3 roll ons from 100km and I beat him, not once, not twice, but all 3 times :-) wasn't a slaughtering tho, we'd get on the gas and I would just be crawling past him. Altho I will credit him on the fact his car was standard and had 2 passengers :-)

The Gtr i ran, pulled a 1/89 60 footer to my 1.917... Not much difference off the line. And he ran 13.3 to my 13.0 and my car was 4mph quicker in the top end.

Unless they know how to drive em off the line, they cant pull quick 60 footers, as they will bog down badly. Even if they do, the fastest 60 footer they will get is low 1.8's and maybe dip inot the 1.7's, but thats a quick one at that.

Alen, did you buy your car from NSW? From a guy called Mustafa?

The car looks VERY familiar! Mods, rims, badging, tint... I'm certain that is/was Muzzy's car.

If it is all yellow under the bonnet then it could be Muzz's car
BUT Muss is a long time member of the soarer family and would not sell a car that has any faults with it to another member.
He also took pride in his car and by the sounds of what Alen is saying i would say NO to that being muzz's car

I agree with Lew, an underbonnet shot will prove if it's his car or not, remember, he had a modded VS Commodore airbox and the whole bay was painted yellow.

nah guys a i bought it from a guy called Andy Earl in melbourne. he works for cadbury schweppes i think. its just that i cant find the recipts of the changed turbos as he claims, all i found was installation of F/mount intercooler (which you can see),2.5" Twin exhaust, Aijustable Reg, Sound Sytem, Haltech Interceptors, and removed turbos and associated components what ever that means. but no sign of new trubos, maybe thats what he meant by upgraded turbos. and all so 18pis boost, but not sure off that too, buying a boost gauge tomorrow just to prove my self wrong. but i am getting the car checked out on wensday by a roadworthy superviser, and of he approves and the mech. who conducted the original roadworthy refuses to fix the car, i am taling leagal actions on him. soo yeh hope it doest come to that, because i really want to have the car fixed before the cruse on 18th Nov.

I am about 99% sure Andy did get some turbo work done at ATS when Max was open then.
I can remember talking about turbos to Max and i am sure we had spoken about Andy's turbo work

i took the car today for a check up by the road worthy supervisers. the car is now defected and some mods have to be removed :-( , ahh well. good news the mech. that conducted the original road worthy has to fix it all, engine oil leak, auto-trans mount, engine emmission (he said its a mod, not too happy about that been changed). although i have to fix the rear axle seal, does anyone have a clue if that costs alot to fix? and aslo is it true that when u slam the brakes on a soarer, the back of the car lifts and the trans. lifts as well?

Weight transfer and suspension will decide how the car reacts under braking. The spoiler is designed to reduce drag, it's not like a huge sprint car wing and won't make any significant difference to the cars behaviour under braking.

thats what the guy told me that did the fake road worthy, i dont really know what he was on about my self. he tryed to convince me that its not his fault, that these cars come in condition to australia, that they dont build them properly in japan. i guess he used that example, like i listend though. all i cared about is him fixing the damn defects

I think he is a certified wanker. Or should be.

Untold millions of dollars went into design/research on these cars and the build quality is exceptionally good. Keep in mind that the Soarer was designed to be Toyota's entrant into the US luxury sports car market, competing against the best on offer made in the USA and Europe. thats what the guy told me that did the fake road worthy, i dont really know what he was on about my self. he tryed to convince me that its not his fault, that these cars come in •••• condition to australia, that they dont build them properly in japan. i guess he used that example, like i listend though. all i cared about is him fixing the damn defects

Personally I wouldnt let someone who said something as clueless as that touch my car ever again. Most Jap imports are well maintained by their Jap owners, and unless they have been wound back or very high milage are usually in pretty good condition, and Toyota's especially are very good at dealing with years of even abusive ownership. The Soarer is no exception - of course imported modded cars have often had hard lives, perhaps that is what he was on about.

Matthew: Japanese people tend to sell their cars before needing to change oil :-) From what I hear from my sister who is over there now maintenance is not a huge priority. Just look at all the cars on the import lists. The only ones that don't have dust covered engine bays are the modded ones.
