| Hey all, new member here. I'm looking at buying a 1991 soarer TT, and the one I'm looking at has a turbo smart bleed valve. I'm not really keen on bleed valves, particularly when I don't have a boost gauge to monitor whether or not it's spiking. Are there any electronic boost controllers that you guys recommend? Thanks. |

| Blitz Dual-SBC Spec R IMHO easily the best one on the market for the price ($450). |

| Everyone will probably just recommend what they have got Hugh. Best do a bit of searching, that way you can decide for yourself based on features etc. |

| I heard some EBC can spike also... I'd check that too if I were you... I'm personally gonna grab a bleed valve for now and see how I go. Unless you're keen on spending some money on a flashy unit, I'd wait and see how well the bleed valve you got there works. If boost spikes, your engine will cut out, so it will not do any damage don't worry. |

| Yeah I know what you're saying, at least most EBCs have a boost gauge built in though, and they tend to look a bit more tasteful than a boost gauge. Would just be good to see if it was actually running specified levels of boost. $400ish ain't exactly expensive. |

If you set them up incorrectly with a high gain it is bound to spike. Fact of the matter is, EBC's control boost the best. |

| I personally wouldn't use a bleed valve since they can cause boost leaks, really harsh spikes, etc. Some people have had some success with them though, so it may be a viable option if your finances don't allow for an EBC. Hugh, I have the GReddy Profec B Spec 2 (yes, very common EBC) and it's a fantastic little unit. It has a built in digital boost gauge and isn't too flashy. I picked mine up off Ebay along with the GReddy turbo timer in a package for $650 delivered. Very good value considering the boost controller alone is about $650 RRP. |

| Yeah the spike can be tuned out of EBCs. Hell I knew nothing about mine but after reading the manual it all became clear and I stopped it spiking by just messing with a few settings. |

Not all of us mate. I use a GFB Bleed Valve on my external gate setup, holds boost perfectly, doesn't spike or drop off at all. I only suggest the Blitz Dual-SBC Spec R because I've seen it used on several very high HP cars without an issue. Based on the experience of myself and my mates: Good: Blitz Dual-SBC Spec R GReddy Profec B Spec II Blitz SBC-iD III Bad: GReddy E-01 Apexi AVCR |

| I had a GFB bleed valve... Car spiked from 13-18psi many times. I soon upgrade to a Blitz EBC, haven't looked back. It's great. |

That sound is the solenoid/s working! Yang, I know of a few people who have had terrific results with the AVC-R, usually the people who don't like it haven't set it up right and don't know how to use it. |

| Why? Have you got one for sale too Vinh? I would have thought the AVC-R would suit SAFCII more oh well... the Greddy one I can hide somewhere in my footwell so my gf won't even know I spent money on the car again. Hell, she doesn't know that in last fortnight I spent 1700 bux on new turbos, 400 bux on SAFC and that I'm buying a $1000 dump pipe too haha!! $450 on a boost controller is just peanuts in the whole grand scheme of things hey |

| Haha sorry Daniel, I don't. My friend from Autobarn can get them for about $450 if you're interested? Dude I'll go take a picture of them later at night. It's really ugly during the day because of where it's currently residing.. I got mine from Ebay for a lot more than that but at least it's BLACK! |
