i have the 180km/h limit, do you guys know how i can get rid of that limit, the mechanic porbably can do it, but i want to know what a good price is, dont want to get ripped off, because they try to do that when they see a young bloke.

"You can pick up a Mine's for about 700 to 1000.
i will never go back to the standard ECU the car runs so much better and you have so much more power and response."

That's complete crap. Stock ECU vs Mines no question, but who would waste $1000 on a mines if they are planning to get an piggyback / standalone?

You can buy an emanage / speed cut defender and have them both installed / tuned for under $1000.

That way, boost cut, speed cut with a programable ECU making MORE power running a lot leaner for the same price.

The only reason someone would get a Mines or Toms ecu would be if they had no plans to upgrade the ECU any further.

I had a Mines. It didn't do it for me! Sold it to someone else that it may have suited better. I prefer the piggy back controllers.

Of course this would only be for racetrack use, WOULDN'T IT? Because it wouldn't be very clever to do 180+ on a public road.

In the new year, i will be looking at removing boost cut after some more mods. At the moment, im running 175-176 km/h trap speeds over the 1/4 mile, so the planned mods, should see me nudging that.

As for the Mines Vs Stock ECU.... Luke in WA did back to back runs over the 1/4 and ran same times and same mph with both ecu's after each being reset.

The Mine's will make no difference to a stock car aside from removing speed cut and raising the rev limiter, to which there is not much point anyway as it is out of the power band.
However I think it has been helpful. I went Mines + Piggyback route rather than full ECU. Probably about the same cost as full ECU now I think about it, but a lot less bother really to tune and suitable to my mods.
