Hey guys
Was driving the soarer around this morning, all was going ok. after about half an hour of driving i stuck the boot into it, and not long after boost kicked in the car all of a sudden got all jumpy and basically wasn't going anywhere. I originally thought it may have been overboosting and was getting fuel cut or something, so i wound the boost down, made no difference.
So i'm guessing it's just a spark fault. What should it be? Plugs? Leads? Coils? Had a quick look to see if all leads were connected properly etc, but, being a soarer noob and being used to falcons i took one look at the engine and had no idea what I was looking at :p.

Sounds like Plugs or Coil Packs. Always change the plugs first. Make sure you run 0.7mm - 0.8mm gap with boosted applications. Plus the plugs are much cheaper to change. While changing the plugs, Inspect all of the coil packs and the Stems for any signs of cracking. These too can cause misfires under boost.
But start with plugs and go from there! How much boost are you running?

Definately do the plugs. I noticed when i first got my car. It was fine at around 10psi, but missed at 13psi. PLugs were old crappy ones, so i put in a set of Iridiums. Hasnt missed a beat, and i run up to just under 16psi at the track. Iridiums can be bought in 0.8mm gap. Copper plugs would probably have to be gapped to 0.8mm(i think, neva used them) as they may be 1.1mm.

NGK Iridiums are indeed BKR6EIX, just threw a set in my baby and couldn't be happier. BKR7EIX are similar just a colder plug. (As Far As I Know)
If you're in the process of tuning the car go with properly gapped coppers which are much cheaper, but after you've achieved your tuning goals you can throw the iridiums in for longer life.

i bought the bkr6e-8's as i figured that sounded like a 0.8mm gap, and that's what the NGK site thing recommended. figured if i went with their recommendations and it was still then i'd be able to kick their ass over it. was still like 95 bucks for plugs :S...
