i bought a blow off valve couple days ago and i am in a bit of a rush to get it installed (just sold my old car and getting RWC for it, so pre-occupired with that)does any one know what a reasonable price would be to get it installed?
I had a custom pipe (the one to replace the rubber pipe just before the plenum) welded up 3" elbow pipe with a 3"-to-2.5" little pipe, joined together and the adapter welded onto a hole I grinded out myself for 30 bucks at mates rates so yeah, 100 bucks sounds about right...

this is the blow off valve i got.
now the cheapest i got quoted was $60. the problem with that was it would be connected on the big top pipe and would release the pressure into the air, and would be too loud, i would have problems with the cops, to minimise that i was told to reconnect the valve back into the system but would require new piping and more work and the quote for that was $500. what do you guys recon. i dont want to get a canery again, yet i dont really want to pay $500 when i can maybe get it cheaper.
Or just don't boost it and blow your boost off around cops, simple! I've had a loud BOV like that for over a year now, and never been pulled over because if it...

Yeah. We have the luxury of having an automatic transmission gearbox
Highway Patrol or Police around? Don't take your foot off the accelerator and let the automatic do what it's intended to do. You'll hear the induction but no BOV

thnx guys, i thought about just getting that $60 one and take it easy around cops, i mean i could get 2 canerys and it wont add up to what i would pay to avoid them lol. but i bought it only because it costed me $50. i think that guy that was selling it only sold it for the reason of been too loud and too expensive to get it installed back into the intake.

save up, do something performance enhancing, like the BFI mod. It will make the factory b.o.v substantially louder and give you a few extra horsepower.
And the satisfaction of doing it yourself. The instructions are in the Modifications and How To threads. Or you could check out planetsoarer.com for some good DIY stuff thats affordable and most importantly... WORKS!
i actually bought a b.o.v. exactly the same from auitobarn back in 2000 when I started screwing with my first turbo car. After a while, you;ll realise there is no cheap alternatives, but its a good way to learn.
