as i have no licence for the last 3 months, my car has been driven very sedately by my g/f most of the time. but i found that at night time my car is cutting out sometimes, but only when it's cold. If i get her to floor it while doing any speed during the day, it just gets on and boogies. But at night, it goes and then the engine light comes on the dash, and the car just stops pulling. it's like a speed limiter but without the jerking, but as soon as you back off and give a second or 2 it picks up power again. It will not do this during the day at all.
any idea's anyone? it's running neils steelwheeled turbo's and no form of boost controller, but still reaches around 12-13psi. at night could this be reaching maybe 14psi and then hitting boost or fuel cut? is that harsh like a speed cut?

i had the same problem, i had a look into it and it ended up being a missfire under more boost. i found that my plugs were tracking down the side under heavy load but only on cold days/nights. as the more oxygen from cold and more boost means more fuel which makes it harder to burn so needs bigger spark to ignite mixture. a new set of iridium ix plugs fixed my problem. could be something totally different but i hope this helps you.

i have a 3" HKS exhaust, neils steelwheeled turbo's and a front mount. I'm not running a boost controller. I've got new plugs, welll done around 15,000kms now. They are iridium, which i know now that most people try and stay away from but at the time that was what i bought.
Also it is creeping gradually, like it fully spools and sits on 11psi, but then as the revs get over 5500-redline it starts to creep a few psi. Would have a boost controller overcome this? I know that having too small a wastegate can cause this as there is too much air and not enough being bleed through the wastegate. I don't think that should be the problem as noone else with neils turbo's has had this problem. Any idea's would be sweet.
get my licence back at midnight tonight so LOOK OUT BRISBANE ;)
