yeh but which ones, are they all the same or is there more expensive ones but better, because so far they keep braking and its not cheap to put them on. one guy did it for me for $250 but it was hard to reach and the bolt wasn't tight enough. others wanted to take out the engine and charge me over $1000. if i am going to do that i want buy ones that wont brake.

The gasket you are talking about is the one that bolts to the underside of the Turbo ? ( 2 x 12mm Nuts on them ) Then that pipe goes to the rubber hoses then to the sump ?

guys don't use any silicon stuff on these gaskets
if you do you run the risk of blocking the oil feed and drain lines .
And that isn't a good thing
as Neil has said place new ones on there
the new ones have there own sealent coating on them.

exactly the ones i am talking about, hard to get to those buggers. anyways so no silicon stuff eh, last time i got this fixed i think that the guy used silicon type material because it was gel type, so stick to normal gaskets yeh? well i am taking it to this mechanic my dad suggested to get a quote, but i doubt it he will do it Properly.

just go to toyota and get whats meant to be in there.. i hate it when people try to skimp on a couple dollars. Just get the part as mentioned by neil and it should solve the problem.

The only reason I asked is because the nearest Toyota is an hour away and I have an auto store about 5mins away, I work 8-6 every week day so my time is scarce, saving a few $$ is the least of my concerns.....

If your local Toyota dealer cant help you out contact James at Castle Hill Toyota
jsloane@chtoyota.com.au he can ship the part/s to you.

Mention you’re a soarer club member for a better price.

Thanks mate. Hardest thing is its only a little part so unless they have a few deliveries up this way they aren't likely to want to drop it off.... I may be able to get them to mail it out... I will send them a line tomorrow.

Joel, Castle Hill will deliver small items via AusPost most of the time to your residence. It's only large items (such as body panels, etc.) that they use couriers for.

allways use original gaskets, if you wanna use sealant, use aviation cement, loctite number 3 or 4 cant remember, one is hard setting and the other stays goey and use that stays goey, it is possible the best gasket cement you can use. i use it on million dollar machines and never have i had a problem, i even use it if a gasket is new, helps to hold it in place cheers.
just my 2 cents
