I ordered the Greddy intercooler of Autobarn in early January, after waiting nearly 3 months for it to arrive I got it home to find it was the kit for a Chaser. They then informed me that the kits for the Soarer were going to be another 2 months. Anyway I got them to order a Hybrid kit for the same $799, had that in a week and all fitted fine. Just a few observations on the Greddy kit, it had 6 lengths of piping where the Hybrid had 3 and the Hybrid kit had proper heavy duty clamps, better quality silicon joiners and piping.

If I had a spare $800, I would be down in a second to get this kit, sounds stupidly cheap, and although the m-spec cooler is a compromise between econemy and performance, it's still much better than sitting on the stock sidemount.
To put it in perspective, your going to get something like double the cooling ability, and then double the lateral exposure of the cooling potential, so almost triple cooling ability during harsh driving conditioins compared to stock.
And to also put things into perspective, 2 weeks ago I was in a place called Dorrigo (about mid way between Tamworth and Coffs Harbour), and anyone that has driven through there knows there is a monsterous mountain, tight twistie style corners, very harsh on cars brakes going down, and quite harsh going up for engines, gearboxes, tailshafts, etc.
Anyway, long story short, me and a few hoon buddies went for several timed runs up the mountain (the speed limit is 100km/h, but most people going up average about 45km/h).
After 5 runs up, I decided it was time to give the 1JZ a little rest, but lifting the bonnet and feeling the metal pipe going into the Thorttle body discovered that it was actually quite cool to touch, no heat to it at all.
My car is almost stock bog standard, but for the purposes of this thread, I am currently still only running the stock SMIC, with the only modification being a steele pipe coming off the throttle body to mount a BOV.
So even the stock SMIC does a fantastic job, but imagine what temperatures my intake would have been seeing with a decent Greddy FMIC set up.
I am drooling to get the money, get the kit, and go back to Dirrigo for some more hill-climbs.
And for those interested, my best time going up the mountain was 5 mins 57 seconds, estimated average of 72km/h over the 6.5km hillclimb.

My Mate lives in Bellingen, and i took him for a run up Dorrigo in my car last year, he loved it. Although, i'd love to have another go with the extra power and torque i have

just to throw it out there, if you go to www.nengun.com you can pick up a spec M kit for a soarer for 671.84 delivered - saves you a bit over 100 from autobarn

Paul,
I have this kit. Everything required is included in the kit. I found it easy to install, and the thing runs just fine. The quality is very high, and everything fits like it should.
I think the bad experiences above are Autobarn problems nor GReddy issues. I couldn't be happier.
Aren't you better off getting a separate ebay FMIC for $150 the buying $150 worth of stainless pipes of ebay and $50 worth of hose and clamps? Cut em up and tack them together and get someone to TIG them up for $50.

Having fabricated a set of intercooler pipes, mounts and the like for an Rx-7 I will never put myself through it again just to save a few bucks. (That is unless of course I find myself stuck in some backwater town with nothing to do over christmas break and three cars to mess with again!)

Or you could be like me and sweet talk a mate into giving you his set of fmic pipes for a few days and having them copied in mild steel then powder coated, yay fmic pipes for under $150
