Hey guys, been reading about these on the net for a while, and also saw them in a recent zoom/HPI magazine and with me putting on some Hi flowed GCG turbo's in early January i thought i might get one. The only thing i don't know is that whether or not you have to use 2 units to run the twins or can u use one controller and just do it that way? If someone has installed one before, or if local Guru Mark Paddick is handy, can someone explain to me how it would be installed? Thanking you
Brendan

I have built them many times for mates on mine, I just have never got around to putting it in my car yet! It would have to run off the one unit, if you buy a greddy/hks/apexi/etc you only have to buy one unit, you just run a t-piece in the boost lines so that the one solenoid pack controls both turbos.
There is also a book at jaycar about car electronics that they sell for $20 which apparently is useful.
Basically this kit is for the experienced user.. takes a while to set up... and even thou u save money... it takes a lot of effort apparently...
I have read about a particular problem which people don't like about it... ill try and find the particular forum post... it has something to do with highway cruising in top gear and u accelerate quickly...blah blha i cant remember..
all in all.. it sounds good to get for people with steel wheel turbos... allows a quicker spool by shutting off some hole completely while it raises boost...
but for peace of mind a greddy/gizzmo/apexi whatever might be a lot less stress.

I used the DFA with the hand controller in my TT it worked ok, I didn't get around to the IEBC or a dyno tune. I tuned it myself and I got a slight gain in performance. The principle of operation of the IEBC is great actually better than most of the brand name gear.
This method of boost control is what is used on EVO's I think.
I built one for a mate who used it on a R33, it worked great. Holds boost perfectly to the redline. His is a manual only running a slight boost increase with no other mods and he hasn't experienced any problems that I know of.

I'm starting to get desperate for an EBC. The weather is fluctuating so much here at the moment, one minute its all good at 17psi then the next HOT day back to 12 followed by a COLD night drive and its up to 21 !!!!!!

I've just recently gone electronic (finally!), upgrading from the Turbosmart 2 stage gate.
We played around with some solenoids, testing between a top of the line AUtronic boost controller and a few others. After much pissing around, we got two solenoids that really snap open and shut in a controlled fashion and give you that nice ramped boost graph then striaght line all the way to 7600rpm. They were the Haltech and Autronic solenoids. Very very similarlary designed, possibly the same manufacturer.

Get issues 107 and 108 of Zoom magazine. Issue 107 shows you how to make a Jaycar EBC. Issue 108 shows you how to install and tune it. The best thing about it too is that they install and tune it on a stock TT soarer as well.

So, just wondering, is anyone able to draw up a diagram as to how you would plumb in the Boost control Solenoid??? And secondly i noticed that in the Zoom mag they used "MAC Valve" to control boost, but i can't seem to find any for sale anywhere can someone help me? Thanks
