Century I always use. But really a nice white 560CCA N70 does teh trick, and looks at home in the engine bay. The centuries stick out like dogs balls, but in darwin, its very easy to forget to turn the AC off before starting the car. This adds mega load on teh battery, so its good to have a top ranking battery. The century I have is rated at 680cca (cold cranking amps), and has never failed me in the soarer, or in the benz, and both require very clean high output.

I have an RACQ R58 at only 430cca. Works perfectly, and has for over 3 years. Always starting the dam thing with the lights on and aircon. Next time it needs a battery I will probably go for something with a few more cca's, but no problems so far.

Pen and Aaron are right. You need a battery of about 500+ CCA and one that has the terminals in the correct place. One that fits in the space provided is more critical if you have moved your radiator overflow bottle to beside the Battery for a FMIC.
I used an Exide Evolution 550HE (550 CCA) from Big W as it was the exact size as the one in there and a little higher CCA. I had to make up a little modification to get the positive lead to reach the terminals though. I just used a little bit of metal (mild steel I think) to give me the extra reach.

That is the same as the battery I'm running in my TT Ben. I noticed that Castle hill toyota sell a genuine toyota battery to suit the Soarers and it has a 2 year warranty. They cost $110, not sure about postage though.

Optima Yellow top fits nicely. Poles are around the wrong way, but its a small amount of hassle to get excellent results. With the audio system I'm putting in its needed, but either way with our cars having so much demand on the electrical system it's worth the extra $$.

That is a bit less than what I paid actually! I think I paid $120-$130 from big dub. Never thought to go to Toyota for a battery. Dealerships are normally ridiculously overpriced for consumable items.

Im using an RACV replacement, 600CCA battery. Never had a starting problem, starts first go after 2 months of null activity. Same thing two years later, i came back from a 2 week holiday and it started like it was charged yesterday. Never had a problem with stereo or heater usage (until it went cold!) either, have had them on for hours with no problems.
Previous owner paid 120 for it, i will probably replace with something similar if it ever dies lol
