Rehan, acceleration enrichment is using TPS feedback - Theres a delay of feedback from the MAP sensor so TPS is used for signalling the fact that a quick throttle movement has taken place, the TPS output is used to compensate and richen things up a little before any other sensor registers a change in airflow.
Apart from that its probably only used for cruise control, traction control and auto kickdown etc. Power FC's don't use TPS output for anything timing or fuelling related from what i've seen, possibly only accel. enrichment like the factory computer.

is acceleration enrichment just the ECU predicting hard acceleration and adding additional injector pulses or pre-emptively increasing the injector duty cycle?

Put it his way, if it has been moved from the factory installed position, or fiddled with at all, it need urgent attention. The Boss gave me a rather in depth speech on what it does at phillip island, way to long to re-iterate here. Maybe if you contacted him?

Rehan, accel enrichment would be enabled under certain conditions; say a change in throttle position greater than 40% so that when the driver punches the throttle sharply it doesnt run lean, as you said its practically acting on advise that there is about to be sudden acceleration and adds a pre-determined amount of fuel depending on RPM etc. It also helps when cruising (stoich AFR's) and the driver taps the accelerator sharply. I've noticed it richen up into the mid 13:1's if the change in throttle is significant enough in a small time period.
TPS units are aligned from the factory, you will see white marking glue used to show the factory position. If you have to check, make sure full throttle TPS output voltage is between 3.75 and 3.95 volts. I have taken my throttle body off and TPS had to be realigned after i pulled it apart and cleaned its surroundings. Its actually a sealed unit from what i saw.

The TPS should be used for personal enrichment!!!!!
I mean, HULLO Darlings..............one should enrich one's life to the MAX!!!.
If ya Soarer's having a bit of a "Cup of tea, and a lie down", it's prolly coz it WANTS to!!!!!
And it's tired of you evil owners "Thrashing the crap outa the poor sausages!.
Remember, it's Christmas time for your Soarer's too.
I wished my Soarer a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year..................but, wouldn't ya know it, all my Soarer wished ME, was blah, blah, blah and, ..........WASH me you fat freak!!!.
I said to my beloved Soarer..........YES!, I WILL wash and groom you to perfection............sometime over the holidays!.
ps: My Soarer hates me,.............BUT I love my Soarer!
ps: My Soarer and I are currently in counseling.
My Soarer (or I) will report back after the holidays, or vacation, or WHATEVER they call "Time off" these days.

Simon, the idle cutoff point needs to be accurate for the ECU to recognise that it needs to make adjustments to the ISCV at that point in time to maintain idle rpm.
Now that i think of it, TPS is looked at for idle cutoff point, deceleration fuel cut and... lemme think probably many auto functions like lockup, gear selection etc.
Dons' on the juice, what a jolly good fellow LOL Soarer loves you mate, relax yourself.

My car idles at 520RPM after an ECU reset, and 630 or 670RPM after the ECU has remapped again. ISCV is nice and clean. So you reckon I should adjust my TPS? Or maybe the idle screw on the throttle body?

My TPS has been fiddled with when my stepper motor died. So at Sports and Lux. they changed it but the idle was still too low, so Doug (mechanic) was doing it for about 4 hours to get it to idle at 700rpm, eventually he did(that was last summer), but now it's falling bellow 700rpm again. And my fuel consumption is ~20L/100km, so i thought after reading this thread that this might be causing my fuel problem.
What do you guys think?
And is there a place in Melbourne that they can adjust the TPS properly (obviously there's no point for me going again to Sports and Luxury)?

Sounds like a boost leak. Check your cooler pipes and all the hoses comming off the throttle body. It could also be a loose cam cover (check for oil stains around the cam cover area) if it's lose, just screw it down tighter.
