Hi all,
Lately starting my car I get this warning DING! ; looking at translation table seems to be 'Oil Pressure' ,not level. I recently changed the oil and filter, and it's not that as it happened before I did as well ( only ran 5000 kays anyway on Mobil 1 ).
My question is , is it possibly the sensor? As I can buy a new one and change that. It never comes up during driving, only for a second at start, and not all the time.
Car is not using oil at all, engine is very clean, there are no noises at all , etc.
I am afraid of worse, like oil pump or the like ? I had this happened on other cars, better or worse than Soarer and most of the time was electrics or sensor, I yet have to see an oil pump going.
My battery is also a bit weak, can it be that; i.e is drawing a bit more amps at start and having a little of impact on electrics ? I noticed it's mostly happening when auto lights are on or when A/C is one, so engine revs a bit lower...
I have had a random "ding" in my car, maybe 2 - 3 times in the last few months, no idea what it is, never seem to really get a good look at the error on the dash, all i know is nothing changes in the car, and still works fine. I will study up on the design of the oil pressure warning, and when it happens next see if that's the same as what i'm getting

Oil can do that to, it runs away from the pickup under heavy cornering, hence why race cars run a dry sump setup or have some serious baffle work done on the existing sump.

Mine is definitely oil pressure, and it is random. It did not happen today anymore... I suspect a faulty pressure sensor, or if pressure is picked up above the oil filter, a bad filter without the return valve working.
