where is the engine number located on the 1jz i can find it and i need it for a roadworthy

Looking at the car from the front towards the rear:

Its ont he right hand side, on the block but under the intake manifold. You will need a small mirror to see it easily. Mine was real dirty and was hard to make out.

cant he just use his VIN number and the compliance plate which should be on the firewall or on the guards near the strut towers?

engine numbers are also printed on the rego sticker up here in QLD...

but i spose that doesnt help if your car isnt rego'd anymore.
