As you can see in the photo this hose is very flexible and it looks like air could leak from 2 points.
How air leaking from there would effect the performance? or is this normal.

Thats just a insulating sleeve over the hose inside it. Nothing to worry about. Perfectly normal, You will find a number of other hoses with similar sleeves.
