Hello. I have a very nice 91 TT that is lowered on Tein adjustable coil overs. Unfortunately after all the years of the front right tyre scrubbing on the guard, it has worn through, cutting some of the wiring and the bonnet release cable. The bonnet release cable has totally pulled out from the mechanism at the front of the bonnet. Any tips on how to release the mechanism? Thanks.
Hahahaahaha, sorry just my initial reaction when I first read it
Perhaps get your car up on stands, remove the wheel that rubbed the cable, and find the broken cable that leads to the release mechanism and pull it there somehow? Give that a go it should work, I don't think it would require much force at all, you'd probably need something that will grip it well...
While you're at it, check if any electrical cables got stuffed as well, I think they run through that spot too. There's a thread somewhere on the forum that talks about how to re route the cables so they don't get rubbed anymore.
