my turn my turn!!!
you have to use the search function mate. I always have questions, quries, etc ect and 90% of the time you will have your question answerd if you use the search function.
anyway I use 10-40 semi sinthetic pentrite oil.

I have used Mobil 1 Super Synthetic oil in all my turbo cars religiously.
I once used BP 5000 synthetic as I couldn't get my hands on Mobil 1, and the mixture of the Mobile, the BP, and the other muck and crap that was in my CA engine at the time caused a blockage in the oil feed to the turbocharger.
It meant I had to sit and idle for 15 minutes before I could spool up the turbocharger, and if I did, I would have to drive steady after that.
After 3 weeks like this, I was replacing my turbocharger.
Found it had no shaft play at a certain point, then you turn the shaft about 1/3rd and it had 2mm of shaft play.

I just use the cheapest I can find that is 10w-40 or 10w-30 that has some Synthetic make up. Just replace it very often. Just for reference I absolutely flog the out of my engine at drag racing.

I use Penrite HPR15 15w60. I did this on the recommendation of a few 9 second stock internals supras. They found that using a thicker oil helped when being pushed hard.
Stock is recommended 10w30 but that is also for a new engine. These are 15 years old now so that is another reason why I prefer to use a thicker oil. As Ben said, I change often though.

Why not run sewing machine oil then?
Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezus, as if this topic hasn't been caned enough on other threads time and time again, yet you still all fall into the same trap then scratch your heads wondering why afterwards!

I use Castrol 15w40 SL for high Performance Engines and have a good quality filter on to. Make sure though the oil rating is atleast SJ or better otherwise its doing damage to your internals.
