Hi everyone again,
I find this site really interesting. I've transplanted a 1JZGTE powerplant (from a JZ30 half cut) into a Corona MK2 body for a drag car and it's been running fairly inconsistently. Mostly ECU problems and probably due to missing inputs from various components such as traction control etc. (I can't even seem to be able to get an ECU code output)It'll run OK till warm.
I'm just about at the end of my tether to get it to run properly so am considering looking at installing an aftermarket unit. Who has had great success with a complete aftermarket unit and with what brand? Autronics has been suggested, Motec is probably too dear and who is a really good tech on these things without being expensive? (We're situated about half way between Melb and Adelaide)I'm hoping to build this thing to go fairly hard with an ongoing upgrade path.
I'd really appreciate some good advice right now.
Thanks David and Andrew (son)

Is there not a decent 1JZGTE electro specialist anywhere in Melbourne or Adelaide to anyone's knowledge?

Check the condition of the electrolytic capacitors in your ECU also.

Thanks mate. Do they tend to fail and cause issues such as mine? How would you suggest testing them?
