Hey all, last night i was having an excitable run with a s13 and it was pretty even. My 1j is stock apart from dumps and exhaust. I live in canberra and the nights here are starting to get really fresh. Just wondering, when i was mid in the rev range in 4th, i noticed the car started to slow down ie, dropped power? is this boost cut? i know it wasnt speed cut......? suggestions?

Mid 4th is like 160km/h, should have been in 3rd gear, it goes to over 200km/h The drop in power is probably due to heat soak. Keep your foot planted for long enough things heat up and don't work as effectively like intercoolers for example.
hmm i just had a similar thing happen and its getting worse.
i assume my problem is 3rd gear slipping as it is happening at about 150km's, but havent held it on full throttle long enough to confirm. Cant afford for anything to fail at the moment.(Oh and i just put a large stall converter in, so this may be the problem or part of)}

Thats the Convertor locking up.. Kinda sounds like its slipping but its actually locking up to give direct power to the wheels.. This increases acceleration and 1/4 mile times
Nothing to worry about Gents, its prefectly normal.
ETs was slightly slower but i had a better 60ft and was 6mph down. This was not the run that felt bad either. the one after that is when i noticed something was wrong and i backed off. If i kept the gas on i think i would have been 10mph down over the 1/4 from the 1st run i had
There definately is a problem. You can feel that it stops pulling and this is a bit into 3rd at about 150 or so.
I am just not sure if it is 3rd gear going, the converter (which was 1 day old MV built 3500rpm) or if i could adjust pressure cable to get this to clamp / loock up better
