Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone has ever had the lifters shimmed in a 1JZ. If so, what was the price as I am looking at having mine done soonish.

What do you mean by lifter? I know about the buckets and shims but I thought that if the cam clearance was out you have to fit a different sized shim to correct it. In which case, it would cost you the price of the new shims.

Just pull the cams out, lift the buckets and shims out, replace with new shim and you are ready to go :-)

I assume it's those then. I only call them that because I know cars with solid lifters need somthing shimmed where as hydrualic lifters don't.

I just need it done to eliminate excess rattle on the top end. My car is sounding like most of the V8 soarers now :/
