I just spoke to Doug at S&LC about my oil leak and he gave me a few pointers to try and source it before bringing it in.
Basically if you were at the Dyno Day you would have seen the massive amount of oil (black TT - BLKLEX plates) it was dripping when warm. Doug thinks its dropping too much to be a seal and most likely a worn/cracked oil return line or similar.
Im gonna take it to the car wash and hose it down, but what should i be looking for apart from the leak what do the oil return lines look like?

Look around the turbocharger area from under and above the engine bay, you will find it will be a turbo return pipe.
Turbochargers dont require huge amounts of pressure for their oil, and when it's done going through the bearings, it usually goes down a metal pipe, and back to a rubber pipe that plugs back on the sump.
On the nissin, it's very common for any turbo work to crack these rubber pipes, as they get fragile with age, and when they crack, they obviously leak.
If it's the rubber return pipe, then a 5/8th heater hose will solve your problems.
If not, then it's going to be something a little worse, but I am 90% sure it will be a turbo return pipe.

How big is the leak exactly... my oil return has a leak because 1 of the screws has come loose and its hardly leaking despite the fact it moves pretty freely. I'd be checking the oil feed metal pipe.

Well i took it to the car wash today and degreased/sprayed the passenger side as this is where the leak appears to be coming from. These are the photos i took after i jacked it up when i got home. Looks as though its the oil filter or something in the surrounding area. I thought one of you guru's on here may be able to give a more definative answer.

It seems to pool and then drip from the bolt in the middle of the below pic
Yes i know its a massive leak and no i havn't been driving it on the roads since i got back from dyno day apart from taking it to the carwash to degrease it.

Get a couple of degreaser spray packs and squirt it all off, then hose it and let it dry. You might see the oil with it just sitting there, or just start it and let it idle while you watch.
The minute you drive it, or rev it, the oil blows everywhere and makes it difficult to trace as your pics show.

Oil Filter appears to be recently replaced !
I would suspect that the OLD sealing ring was still on the plate when the NEW filter was installed.
It was serviced at Amberley Autos/Horse Power Factory 2 weeks ago, just before i bought it.
When it first started leaking i noticed: 1. The engine oil was actually overfilled 2. The oil looked old anyway (perhaps just topped up?) 3. Now they may have incorrectly put the oil filter on as you guys described.
Very dodgy service from such a respected shop, will definantly be avoiding them in the future!

Attend to it before you pump the engine dry.
Don't piss around asking questions on here, get it to a Mechanic.
I've kept the engine oil topped up when i start it to trace the leak but im not actually driving it, its booked into S&LC this Wednesday so im still asking questions and playing with it as its just sitting stationary in the garage until then and if its something as basic as changing the oil filter then i could get it back on the road myself

As Neil said.
BUT if you want to play around with it go spend $10 or so and get a new filter and replace the one thats there. That will atleast eliminate that. Ive had similar leaks from mine, although mine came a little loose

Hmm that might be worth checking on mine, I have a mystery oil leak too, but only minor. Is the sensor easy to get to? Any chance of a pic? My compressor has been removed, which might simplify things

Sounds like your in luck Braden as there was just not enough room to swing a spanner with the compressor on, so it had to be removed/moved out of the away to replace the switch.
Unfortunetly i dont have a pic as its at S&LC getting replaced at the moment. In the second last pic its sort of straight up in that gap above the hose (top centre of pic). Basically passenger side of engine at the front, above aircon compressor.
A new switch is about $60-80 new from Toyota, but they had to remove it first before ordering to see which switch it was, as the Toyota parts guy said some were Denso and some Yamaha? or something like that.
As soon as it was up on the hoist it only took about 1 minute for them to diagnose where it was coming from, but then again you couldn't miss it with the amount of oil coming out
