this may be a stupid questions but i am new to Soarer TT's. I have a 1j that needs the turbos replace but am considering changing the whole engine. Can a 2j just be dropped in?

My understanding is yes it can be done. 2J bolt on without any issue.

Do a search. This issue has been covered before.

I'm not sure this would be as easy as some people suggest. Certainly the 1.5JZ wasn't completely straightforward. With a full 2JZ conversion you would not only have to consider exhaust/intake manifold height differences but also that 1JZ ECU will be fuelling for two small parallel ceramic turbos. I'm guessing that the volumetric efficiency characteristics would change and need to be allowed for.

1JZ ECU is fine for running a 2JZ. I used a 1JZ PowerFC and didn't change the tune dramatically when I converted to 2JZ. If you're swapping motors, you should already have some sort of aftermarket engine control.
