where to look for that *&%*()*& oil pressure sensor on the engine ? It's gotta be there on the side somewhere... I am sick of the startup "ding" and will change it now. Or forever hold your peace.

Thanks a lot !

How do you check that ; you need to hook up a pressure gauge to the line, isn't it ?

Is it typical for the oil pump to go on these?

I just sold my old faithful Corolla that had 250,000 kays and she was going strong, no oil pressure problems...

How can I check her out; where's the best place to hook up an oil pressure gauge to see what she's doing at startup ?

Many thanks

oil pressure sensor is hidden behind the air con compressor on inlet manifold side of motor, below throttle body.ie, need to remove a/c compressor to get access to sensor . pain.

I just had to get my oil pressure sensor replaced as it failed and caused a massive oil leak. Also had to move the power steerng pump out of the way to get to it.

Was $60 from Toyota.

Done this the other day and thought might help someone searching for the oil pressure sensor, this is for the v8 uzz32, not sure about TT

The first pic show the old sensor still mounted on the car, black on left of pic is the oil filter, so you can reference the senor location, you will need a 26 mm socket, deep socket is better, normal socket was just enough.

second pic show difference between old and new, nothing was wrong with old one, I just thought of replacing it as good maintenance.
