Hey guys, just wondering where to get a Turbo Timer from? Don't want it to be expensive, but not a cheap one that will not work properly either! Also roughly how much for a decent one?

Not cheap + Not expensive + Decent + Roughly how much = long piece of string.
The basic function of a turbo timer isn't anything special. Even cheap units will do the job. You need to look at the extra features that some can provide like the Apexi, GReddy and HKS ones and decide if you need those and if you are brand conscious or not.
The ability to set the time or have automatic calculation of time depending upon engine on/revs is also useful.
Do a comparison of some of the features on my site. You don't have to buy from me (although I do have them all in stock) but at least it will give you an idea of the different features of the name brand units. Then do a comparison with units on eBay - you may even find a name brand one their cheaper however do consider our additional customer service policies...

Yang - it's a bit hard to say with these sorts of electronics. I haven't had any returns on any of the ones we carry and haven't really read anywhere where others have had any specific issues. So from that perspective they are pretty much similar in terms of zero failure rates (Unless anyone else here has other experiences to add).

Oh one other thing however - there are known copy Apexi items which have some reduced functionality but look like the real deal (including Apexi packaging) however I haven't seen copies of the HKS or GReddy ones. Just keep that in mind if you see any Apexi ones that are very cheap. Apexi USA had a warning about this on their site. Our ones are of course genuine.

The GReddy one is pretty good. I have it installed in my car.
The only problem you will experience with turbo timers is to do with the auto headlights. If your car doesn't have the automatic headlights, then you have nothing to worry about.
End of the day it comes down to how it's installed. A turbo timer is a turbo timer, if you would like the extra features (such as 0-400m timing, battery voltage monitor, and a few other things Gregg has suggested) then you may want to opt for a brand name timer.
Price wise, I'd say $50 for a simple one to $200 for a fully featured one.
