hey, i have a thin (hairline) crack on the top of the top tank of my radiator, ie above the coolant level.
i was just wondering if its safe to drive like this or if theres anything i can use to seal it up.
i'm planning on replacing the radiator in the future but living outside of perth and working away makes it hard to get things for a soarer in a reasonable sort of time frame.

I had the same problem a few years back and i tried all different types of Radiator sealant and none of them really worked. I didnt have the money at the time to fix it so kept using the sealant.
It ended up costing $250 to replace the top radiator tank. So wasnt to bad a price.
If your gonna Drive your car, Buy some sealant...But check your fluid everytime before you drive and make sure its full. Id recommend you fix it as soon as possible.

Paul, if you must drive it, try leaving the radiator cap on the first click so the system isn't actually under pressure. It will lower the boiling point a bit, but stop the coolant squirting out. It worked quite well for me on the V8, though TT radiators might be a bit smaller - less cooling.

Weird, You would think the TT radiators would be bigger as the 1JZ produces more Torque and HP from the factroy.. PLus it has the additional under bonnet heat from 2 turbos.

I'd say just get it replaced, mine was cracked for a while and a worry because I drive so far each day, just get it replaced before more damage is done.
