Hello All
Since the installation of my emanage, i keep getting an electrical warning message and when i retrieve it via diag's, it comes up with efi 52. From my research, i have found this to be knock sensor.
THis code is coming up when cruising and not when under full load.
I will reset the ecu and 10 mins later it comes back.
I am wanting to know if it is possible to snip the wire to the ecu so it does not get a knock signal, or will this give me other error codes (or the same one permanantly)
the main problem is when this code comes up the standard ecu retards timing and makes the car unbareable to dirve (missfires and carrys on under boost)..
even if i can get information on the knock sensor (what type is used) and wire in a resistor of some sort to trick the ecu to thinking that one is present but not registering anything.
And yes i know they are there for a reason, but this can be monitored through the emanage datalogging software.

that's strange christian. has cihan seen anything like it on all the other e managed soarers? We know it is your front knock sensor, and the ECU is reporting that it is not getting a signal from it... therefore in my opinion, the loom that you recently installed is faulty, and not completing the knock sensor circuit. After seeing how a piggy back patch loom works, this is a real possibility that my assessment is correct.

does this mean its gettin no signal at all, or that it actually registering knock.
One of the knock sensors is spliced into but the wire is not chopped.
Next step will be check resistance of the sensor and wire between it and ecu.
I have also read on another forum that the knock sensor resistance should be around 1 M Ohm. does this mean i can just put a resistor inline and trick the ecu into thinking that the sensor is still connected.

my guess is that the ecu is not getting signal. incomplete circuit. the splicing may be the cause, but if done correctly, it is more likely it is a red hearing.

well i de-spiced (chopped) the wire from the ultimate and have not had the code appear.. mind you i havent driven the car far yet. hopefully this will fix the prob.

i am having the same problem but i have no emanage and getting missfires and carrys on under boost as well. ohh i recently replace my current engine could it have some to do with that cheers
