Hey guys,

Sorry guys I know there are many threads regarding this, and I have gone through the past 2 hours and read nearly all of them.

Picked up the 1995 Soarer twin turbo 2 days ago from a car dealer. All is running good so far, Have been driving nice and slowly with the occasional fang here and there.

Last night after my turbo timer switched off. I heard a boiling noise coming from somewhere in the motor. Opened up the bonnet and after 15 minutes was still hearing it bubble but not as much.

The coolant tank infront is a brown colour so I know it needs new coolant and all that. I booked in my car with Spiro from Autotech Engineering today but he told me he is busy and the 23rd of October is the day I am booked in. That is still 11 days away and I am worried I will do some permanent damage to my motor if I don't fix this ASAP.

For the guys in Sydney going to the swap meet on Saturday (tomorrow) at Pendle Hill, I am hoping you guys can have a look for me and see if somethings wrong one of the hoses is blocked or there is a more serious problem or it just needs a radiator flush and new coolant.

But although not being very mechanically minded with things like this, I still know hearing a boiling noise is not good at all.

My temperature never goes past halfway whatsoever, I am thinking its broken, but in the mornings it starts on Cold (all the way to the left) and goes to the middle and stays there. I have never seen any smoke whatsoever come out of the exhaust, and have never seen any steam come out of the engine.

I am willing to pay someone who is going to be there tomorrow at the swap meet at Pendle Hill to even do the radiator flush for me I will pay whatever is asked for the work, I just don't want my car to have a major permanent problem that will cost me thousands to fix.

could also be toyota red coolant (which appears brown)

this is the stuff recommended for soarers.

and the temp guage should always sit in the middle except for when cold.. that aint broken either.

probably nothing wrong..

but if your unsure take it to get cheacked out.

Thanks for the response Christian. I quickly went past Autotech just now had a 1 hour lunch break so lucky me. Talked to one of the workers there Daniel. He told me if the coolant was overflowed that it might be causing the bubbling, but he reckons its my radiator cap not holding the pressure properly and told me its common that the radiator caps wreck after time. And told me to go buy a new radiator cap just to be sure.

Does this sound right to you guys.

Possible, but not for that long. It might be the carbon cannister just in front of the firewall on the passengers side. They carry on a bit after a run, but it's quite normal. Check to see if you can tell where the noise is actually coming from.

Guys yesterday after the Soarer swap meet. I went to my friends house and flushed out the radiator. I couldn't believe my eyes the colour of the water in the radiator and overflow tank. It looked like the worst dirty colour I have ever seen in my life. I took off the hose of the overflow tank and let the coolant pour out it was just dripping out slowly like it was blocked. I grabbed a piece of thin metal and poked it into the overflow tank and then the water was pouring out like a tap.

I flushed out the radiator 5 times within 2 hours. The first 3 just with a water hose and the last two put some green coolant we had in my mates garage turned the car on and let it go through the whole system, then flushed it out.

Then added the Nulon red coolant in and added water.

The car is running twice as good now as it was before.

I have my car booked in for a radiator clean mid week, and I will visit Niall ASAP for a full service and check over of the car.

Man there is some bodgy car yard dealers out there. I am going to call him and tell him I have the video on my phone of when we flushed out the water, and tell him if something happens to my car in the next few months, he is paying for it.

The car is not blowing any smoke out of the exhaust, the oil looks clean, and the temperature has never gone over halfway since I had it even with the dirty water, so I hope it didn't damage anything major.

Sorry for the long post.
