Hi guys, we were driving to work this morning and as i pulled up at the lights i could feel a bit of a thud going through the drive-line.
I didn't think much of it as it felt like the thud you get from a subwoofer from a car nearby, but when the GF mentioned it also, i turned down the stereo to listen to other cars and it was definitely coming from the soarer.
The thud would happen every 5 to 10 seconds or so, the revs would momentarily jump between the 600rpm and the 800rpm mark also (but this could just be because it was idling somewhere between 700rpm).
The car was not quite up to operating temperature and seemed to disappear once it was at operating temperature as we were idling at subsequent lights.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar, it very much feels like a low beat from a subwoofer reverberating through your seat/feet.

Was it constant or intermittent? My car did this yesterday, my transmission is nearly dead. Might also be ignition related?

it wasn't exactly regular but it was more often when just started, ie about once every 4 seconds stretching out to 10 seconds, stretching out to not noticing anything what all when it was warm.
It was a definite "low bass note" feel when it happened though.
the oil change for the engine is due this week, maybe i should do a transmission fluid change also to eliminate that?
spark plugs were changed 20K ago during 100K service and are the long life ones, also any coil packs that had cracks on them were also replaced at that time.

I had the same thing occur a week or so ago.The same 'low bass note' you describe but only until it was at normal running temp.
After that it was fine and i haven't noticed it again.
Only really remembered it when i saw this thread!

Same here. I had my temp set to auto and the AC was cycling.

I'll see if it does it again this afternoon.
