Hey guys i really need to find a good mechanic in perth who knows his soarers!! and at a reasonable cost.
I took my car into John Hughes Service center to have a look at my overheating problem and a couple of other things that needed looking at.
I got charged $344 for them to look over my car and what annoyed me the most was the fact that they didnt even find why it was overheating now im to worried to drive around in case i damage the engine or it overheating again.Fair enough i knew it would cost me to have it looked at but $344!! for not even doing any work to my car! anyway after a few words, in the end i paid $149.
Here are the other things they quoted that they said needed doing-
Oil leaks- powersteering pump + hoses $966.50 - rocker cover gasket $295 - crank,cam seal,timing belt drive belt $955 - rear main seal $1030
Passenger door window reg+motor $1230 Passenger door lock $557.50
Labour all included in prices
Sorry for the long post but im sure im getting ripped off. I want to fix these problems but not at that price.Are these fair prices? can you guys recommend any good places?

I havent heard him being 'too busy' before. He has a lot of work going on these days but usually can sort something out within a fortnight. Tell him his pipes are on the way for me! =P

I had a mate buy his Soarer off Hughesy and to keep his 3year warranty that he paid extra for he had to get it serviced by them. On the first service somehow they accidentally managed to get oil sprayed all over the engine bay. =P

Mate if you are on the south side try Max Raffaele in O'Connor 9314 1478. He's done some excellent work for me and another couple of soarer owners. He's a big fan of the V8s but knows a bit about Forced induction and has done at least 2 superchargers that I know of.

Hey you could Dave at Percise automotives and suspentions in Wangara- 93022695.. He's really cluey, has all the gear and charges 70 bucks an hour. He helps me out.
