I recently got a 1991 toyota soarer here in japan. i drove it for a few days and now i got a seriously loud whistle noise and no power like i am not building any boost i need to get a jci on it this month and i am at a loss i checked intercooler piping and and all piping going to turbos doesnt seem like there is anything wrong then i took the stock boost pressure reg and cleaned it the only thing i have done is put aftermarket exhuast on it i would really like my car to be the way it was when i bought it i love this car.

Will your in the land that we woreship. Take it to a topsecret garage or something and slap a 2zj in it.. Umm now more to the point of your question. I would say check if your car is blowing smoke or the like possibly the turbos are whisling which sometimes is refered to as turbo whine, otherwise check and recheck all clamps and hoses for leaks.

You have blown a turbo! Not sure witch one but you have the classic symptoms. Sorry mate! I blew mine not long ago and had no smoke just no boost and a loud whistle,It felt like I was driving a very small 4 cylinder car.
In the land of the god's you should be able to find second hand ct12a's very cheap.Have a look around the sport's shop's.

That is pretty much what is going on my i can hear a loud whistle coming from my rear turbo. and i have no power other than that the car runs in top shape. the front of the turbo says ct112a thats all i can see i can put my hand on the hose and it feels like it is getting boost at the hose it may just be the front turbo though is there a way i can tell if it is blown for sure. i am stumped no sighns of a typical blown turbo you know

The car will not run bad,Just no boost and loud wistle.
There is two way's and that's 1,check the Cat in the exhaust to see if there is ceramic turbine bits.2,Take the turbo's off and inspect if you have turbo shaft play and missing fins.Other than that,That's the only way.

I got some awesome news a friend of mine just scrapped his 1990 supra, with a 1jgz TT i am not sure if it has the sequential set up or not i will have a look at it tonight hopefully. but if all else i will get 2 used turbos he said the turbos themselves only got 10 clicks on them so thats a good thing. If it is the sequential set up do i only need the intake and turbos or how does that work

Will the 1JZ engines Never had sequential. It doesn't matter if it's in a Supra. Only the later model supras 1993 onwards were sequential. So No your mates supra is Not sequential.

I put the turbos on the car runs ok but i left the actuators on from the supra it bogs down a little bit i didnt think the actuators where different does anyone know if they are
on a lighter note i got a HKS cold air intake strut tower cross bar and full shop exhuast.
