After one experience I had there I will never go back.
When the top tanks get old they will crack after they have been leaned on. This typically happens the next time the coolant gets up to maximum operating temperature.
I have seen this happen several times before and I wouldn't be suprised if they leaned on it with considerable force whilst putting the replacement engine in.
I'm sure with a new top tank this wouldn't be any issue but seems to happen on most 10 year old top tanks.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!
Got the radiator swapped over today and the car is back to its beautiful self. The engine runs beautifully.
Alen Sadicovic's dad did all the work for me, he is an absolute legend!! One of the nicest guys around.
About the check engine light....When its idling, the light will come on, then switch off, then come on, then switch off. Like, every 10 seconds or something. The whole drive home though it never once came on, only seems to come on when its just sitting there at idle. Any ideas on what it could be?

Take the car to the mechanic that did the motor, get him to look it over, and also confirm and make sure he is happy with the radiator install (to validate any warranty that was under risk previously).
If he 'fixes' the blinking light on the dash, get a friend to check the dash cluster to make sure no globes have been removed from the cluster to 'ficticiously fix' the problem.
I Worked on a friend's Holden/Opel Astra because her service light kept coming on. Anyway, after weeks of checking everything, and even having Holden confirm all was well, we removed the light to stop the bothering.

GREEEEEEAT!! THE CONTINUES!!!
Heres what happened. Drove my car for about 10 mins to the undergroud carpark I usually park at....I got out and when the engine switched off I heard a loud hissing noise like steam.
Had a look under the car and coolant was pissing out everywhere.
Its not coming out of the radiator, its coming from somewhere I cant see....somewhere behind the water pump or something.
Anyway, so I went and caught the train....came back in the evening....topped it up with water and thought i'd just get it home cause its a short trip.....got about 5 mins down the road and the temp went up...so I pulled over and left it there.
WTF!!! I think a hose or something has come loose.
BIP Toyota should not go anywhere near cars!! OK, so some may say that the radiator cracking was a co-incidence after they worked on it....but how about the 'check engine' light always on, and now a water leak. Man....they really haunt me!!

Sorry for coming in late but Barry in Campbellfield?
I picked up Dragans FMIC there I think (or could be wrong). Anyway Yeah good bloke I dealt with.
Had a similar conversation about 1j\2j vs RBs and have always meant to go there for my performance work. (just need to save enough for the performance parts)
