Just wondering what peoples opinions are on the kkr range of turbos suited to the 1jz.Looking at being budget wise and also reliability.Not after drag performance,rather good street wise and response.
To re-iterate somewhat, many come to the conclusion you are better off slapping together a GT3040 or internally gated 3082 setup over a KKR etc setup.
Much better response, proven reliability and not much more expensive when you consider labor, fittings, manifold modifications etc that come with these chinese/korean "kits".

ben i am running the 480 in my car and love it and have not had any probs with it and rate the kkr turbos highly and does the job good .if you have any questions feel free to ask me.

Thanks adam.how did it all fit? much fabrication due to ill fitting sizes of flanges ect if was in the kit form? Thanks for your response mate,good to hear there are other turbos we can consider on a budget. Are you running bigger injectors? and management?

hello ben how are you, mate the only prob i had doing the whole thing was the first mainfold i got was from just jap ,wich i now call just crap as thats what they have there and are dick heads as me and my mate nealy got in a fight there was one of they guys working there as he would not give back my money. any way the turbo mounts fine on the mainfold i got from gcg no probs,we just had to make some custom piping for the cooler to mount up to the turbo and custom oil lines wich you will have to get made any way.im am still runing stock ecu just with a fcd and stock injectors. i hope this helps but if you have any more questions feel free to ask.

just the turbo as at the time they were still making one ,i dont think they have it for sale yet or do they ill have to give grant a call to ask him,hes one of the guys how runs it.

well the car went like •••• due to a boost leak and than the cooler pipe came off so i only got a low 15 and when the cooler pipe got fixed it started raining so i could not run again so i was not happy at all ,so ill be taking it back in the next few weeks when i get time and money .
