Last week i fitted my new marlew (lew) exhaust system (dumps and all ).... anyways

i started up the car, to see a busted oil drain line, so i got that fixed...

i then drive it for the first time, sounds good, only 12.5psi... (leaking vacuum)

after 10 minutes of spirited driving, the car has a ticking sound... so i have a lifter a bit sticky.... but it dissappears, however, here is where all the problems start

the car feels like its a N/A, and will not boost past 0psi!, and yes, there are no leaking cooler lines, idle is fine, but no boost.....

no ecu diagnostic error codes were found, however, i noticed the timing sitting at 5 deg (i think minus), what i want to ask is has anybody noticed this before, is my car in 'Limp mode'..... any idea will help, as my car is being checked on the dyno as we speak, but your help may save me $$$$$ worth of wasted time labour

Not limp mode.. You have Blown an Intercooler Pipe off:-) Check all of the intercooler pipes and clamps before investigating any further.

ill double check these tommorow, as they were checked by 3 people so far, only problem is the car revs to 3000rpm, and starts choking power wise from there (it may be the timing retarding)....

if you get to 3,000rpm without boost, then there is a boost leak somewhere for sure!!!! Check everything fromt he turbo back, but it's definately loosing boost, they should be starting to go into positive boost at 1,900rpm.

If you get to 3,000rpm without any issues but then get problems, check the fuel pump, jumper B+ and FP in the enginebay diag port and take the car for another spin to see if there is a problem. If said problem goes away, then you need to look at a fuel pump fairly soon.

If the above doesn't help you out, then I am currently out of ideas.

car came of the dyno test today...nothing found, all clamps were secure, :-( i may have an open wastegate.... i think if the fuel computer was to blame, then it may have appeared on the diagnostics, also the car idles fine.....
2 more inspections left, and ill go hypergear tr44hf setup (again, i sold one a few months back)... :-(

Charlie;
work back through what you have done to the car.
was it running fine before fitting the exhaust?
if so;
check your crank angle sensor wires and O2 sensor wires
look at you spec sticker under the bonnet
it reads 10deg before top dead centre.
if you are only reading 5 it may not be getting a correct signal
and seeing how you have had the front turbo off to fit the dumps you have to disconnect the 2 plugs(O2 and crank) to get it off.
it will make the car miss fire at around 3000rpm.
also while your there lookingat wires check out the cam angle wires as well thay seem to break lately.
good luck mate

did the fuel pump bypass trick...still no boost, 100% no leaking cooler pipes, however, i did notice, when i pulled the intercooler pipe near the turbo, and revved the car a bit, the blowing air pressure from the turbos wasnt much (something an ebay electronic supercharger or a vaccum cleaner will give) ......

once step closer to a single......

One way to check is to block off the outlet of one of the turbos and see if you get some boost back. If it's still zero boost, block the outlet of the other turbo and try again. If you all of a sudden have boost, then you've popped a turbo. I wouldn't advise driving it around like that though, as you'll have 1 turbo trying to do all the work.

When I popped my ceramic front turbo, all the boost made by the rear turbo was going straight back out the front turbo, and the car would spew out burning oil smoke whenever I tried to rev it. It didn't want to rev much either, getting it past around 3-4k was a real struggle, redline was pretty much unachievable.

I think when people remove the turbos and replace them, they dont take enough care with the oil lines....

I have seen a few people bend them without knowing, thus reducing oil supply and in turn, killing the turbo.. OR they use too much gasket goo and block the oil feed line...

Both are bad things. If/when you remove your turbos again, check to see if the metal oil feed lines have been kinked and flattened out.

I think that is quite possibly the reason for many of the china CT12A copies blowing up personally. People not installing them correctly.
