Non collision motor, dont know why they make collision motors when they dont have to, just means when something goes wrong, there is heaps more damage to contend with.

um where are you getting your info from?? i have come to believe that the 1uzfe is non-interference and the 1jz is an interference.

it would be good to see some evidence other than a couple of people saying so!

1J is non interference. Only becomes an issue with certain amounts of lift (can't remember the exact numbers) on aftermarket cams.

James early 1uzfe is non-interference ,later ones are .......higher compression!
Having said that i would not be brave enough to remove the timing belt on a early 1uzfe and press the starter!!

Dave, I have seen a 1UZFE out of the car with no belts, we could spin the crank and cams with no problems.

1JZ is non interference (aka free spin).
Can put the HKS 264 cams in (8mm lift I think) and they are still free spin. I think the Jun cams make it an interference motor (8.8mm lift or something).
