Matthew, My concerns exactly. I mean IF these setups were really that good, why havent we seen them on so many performance cars? I know ive seen some on Show cars, so ive always assumed theya re for show and not go!

without arguing the performance side the major factor would be cost..

this setup will heat soak no question.
the only benefit could be less lag due to shorter inlet tract.

to work properly it should have had a shroud for the thermos.

otherwise looks good.

not to sure about the 90 degree bend on the core oulet though

Hasn't a standard FMIC got up to 4 90/180 degree bends, you're worried about 1.
Unfortunately I sold my Mines ECU so I am waiting for the E-manage before running down the strip again,it is making above 15psi with no boost control so it is impossible to get a decent time to compare.
The fact that i can touch the top of the intercooler, while the radiator is extremely hot discounts most of the heat concerns of others.
I have set the thermos up properly and get temps around 80-85 degrees even with the AC on, while many think that thermos are no good and not as efficent as the standard system.
I have also added a bonnet scoop for which have real results. Before the scoop the underbonnet temps 50 mm above the turbo heatshield was 79 degrees C, after 36. Between the head and the intake manifold just above the injectors, before was 75 after was 37. This was cruising at 100kph on a 30 degree day. I will try to get some spot surface temps of the radiator intercooler etc later today.

Jeff, Great idea with the Bonnet scoop mate ! Thumbs Up:-) We did the same thing on my old mans modded Efi windsor'd Falcon! Unbeleivable difference in under bonnet temps. Definately somehting we overlook, but i think its due to the fact that most people like the looks of the soarer unmolested.

They're smooth bends with a FMIC and the air can flow with little restriction, the outlet of this cooler is a sharp 90 degree bend from the core.

id love if this system was as promised for power and reliability... i want to keep my lower fog lights in the front lip and convert them to HID and with an intercooler you cant really do that in a soarer.. the piping comes right where the lights go.

with this drop in option itd be great.

and it replaces the stock radiator as well with one thats more efficient? sweet.

why would you need a new one mate ?
aluminium will last a very long time and even if it leaks it can easily be welded up. :-)

ive been talking to a guy from the website posted above for selling these...
im thinking of getting one...

he is VERY helpful and sent me additional photos of the kit with tape measure next to it and closeups of the tubing and some information he thought would be useful to me.

hes even getting some more information from the manufacturer for me to answer some extra questions i had.

and he was quite interested in what soarercentral people were thinking about it..

Mike, was that Will from Express parts? If so then yes, he seems like a nice guy, very helpful and genuinely interested in doing the right thing by the customer . Very unusual these days.

Might want to be wary of the workshop producing these if this thread is any indication:

The product is probably fine, but I don't know if I could trust a place with business practices that unethical.

If you read the first one, here is the response. I know which one sounds more realistic....

******** Manager.

In response to the post by "sofast" ,yes it is true he did bring us the car asking for cooler pipe work.
But upon inspection it was found that there was lots more work to be done as the motor was only put back in by him and his mates and lots of things where not finished off all of which take time to rectify, true??

Firstly the gearbox was stuffed and stuck in gear so it was agreed to remove the g-box and it was now that we found no spigot in the crank for the gear box and the gear box needed some work. Secondly the engine hit on his new carbon bonnet so we suggested the engine be lowered due to the hight problem with the RB30-25 head combo ,good idea before making cooler pipe work ,agree??.

Now I must mention at this stage we had received several phone calls, and I mean several not just one , from businesses who had dealings with the customer warning us he was trouble and a non payer, but hey he seemed like a good guy who was just trying to get his car going so we ignored the warnings , our first mistake.

The Autobahn Dyno Day was coming up and the customer wanted to compete right or wrong so I said to the customer the car needs a lot of work done including a g-box rebuild, fuel system etc to compete reliably. So an agreement was met where we would get the car going for the dyno day and he could pay us off as he did not have all the money upfront, second mistake ??.

The following weeks up to the event the customer was in our shop every day watching our mechanics work on his car and EVERY day the customer would ask to see the invoice and I would show him when it was updated daily. At NO stage did the customer say stop work or dispute the invoice, in fact if any one was concerned it was me because there where more and more things needing to be done and as a business we had to carry the cost of parts & labour until the customer could pay us off, how many shops do that ??.

So to cut a long story short at this stage every one was happy the customer was getting his car done and hopefully we where gaining a loyal customer with a nice car to spread the good word about our business. However due to the customer not getting the g-box back to us from someone HE took it to. It was not ready in time for the Dyno day, well no g-box no fun even though our part was complete just needed tuning. It was decided there would be other dyno days so we went on to other work waiting on his g-box to be returned from his repairer.

It was not long after that the repayments stopped coming and he started disputing the bill, it is now I will mention that if the customer had still paid the repayments the car would have been back to him long ago and every one happy. It was now all the stand over crap started and he was trying to get his car back with out paying, we received death threats, begging, solictor's letters you name it. He has tried even ringing the police saying we stole the car. At the end of the day we have tried to end this quickly by trying to get him finance , giving him discounts etc but still nothing from him but threats and this post on this forum is just another attempt to hurt us and get his car back without paying for what he owes.

It is quite simple all work must be paid for before the car goes .

Anyway you guys will decide on what is true etc but this is my only response and I just wanted to have my say and tell it how it really was.

Cheers

Since when do business's just ring people to warn that client X is a bad payer? How do they even know that their client is about to be a client at another business?

WTF has any of that got to do with Predator Intercoolers? Again, an uninformed he said, she said, they said. Take my word on it guys the quality of these is very good,I was a boilermaker for 20 years and I am now a welding inspector so i should know if a product is good quality and fabricated well. Don't listen to second hand gossip, it's pathetic.
