If you're going to flush it out if not running Toyota coolant, get it done right. And by that I mean a power flush at a radiator shop, garden hoses in the bottom pipe are USELESS for that. Toyota red is exceptional coolant, BUT it really doesn't like any other coolant. ie if Toyota red gets mixed with some other coolant or residues, you can have symptoms ranging from poor performance of the cooling system, right through to (as in my case) having the water galleries in the head eaten away!!!

The system pressure depends on what pressure rated raidiator cap is used... I think most are either 0.9 bar or 1.1 bar. Roughly 13.2psi and 16.2 psi. After the above pressure is reached, the cap will release it.
They are pressurised systems because it has been proven that coolant can acheive higher boiling points whilst under pressure

I think Rehan was refering to the pressures used in a power wash. The machine I use puts 1bar through the system. Top and bottom hoses are clamped to it, making it a sealed system. Engine is left running and it pumps around 80L of clean water though the system over about 35mins and dumps it out the otherside in a big bucket.

Nah mate, the radiator is usually done via mechanical measures, ie when the top tank is removed a thin piece of steel is shoved through the tubes to remove the muck.
