Im driving along and then bloop! no rpms... the wheel gets very hard to steer so i think total power loss but everything is still lit up.
but its quiet
the engine had just randomly shut off as i was cruising along even tho it was getting gas, it didnt sputter and die, it turned off light a lightswitch.
i pulled over, and it started up fine and hasnt done it again.

so, i recently bought a total ground package from ebay for the soarer.. huge ground plate, fancy looking ground connections.. should probably fix the problem?
cuz that was a little scary really...
light traffic and not on the highway thankfully...

Exactly the same thing happened to me about 3.5 years ago..............poofling along in the burbs, minding me own business.............then HULLO! no steering, no engine....but dash working just peachy!
It was the Fuel Pump ECU. Very common problemo with 16+ year old Soarers. Totally unrepairable.......sooo just chuck a NEW one in, and she'll be good for another 16 or so years.

It comes WITH the mounting bracket attached for easy install.

This happened to me too about 3 years ago. It only happened once and never happened again. I did change the FP ECU about a year later so I dont know if that has anything to do with the non re-occurnace but just thought id share my 2c.
