I have a 1992 Toyota Soarer TT 5 Speed. The car is suffering from a very high idle. As soon as I start the car, it immediately idles at 3000RPM! As soon as I put the clutch in it wants to go higher. I checked the throttle cables, tried to look for a vacuum leak (impossible to hear as the engine is too loud). It is not hunting for an idle, it just stays at 3000RPM steady and up. I tried to see what happens if I move the throttle on the engine with my hand and as soon as I give it some throttle the idle goes even higher. I heard that it might be the ICV but the cases I have heard of are not as extreme as me. Thanks for all the help in advance.

Tried an Ecu reset? INjectors sound like they could be sticking open and flooding the engine?

Idle Speed Control Valve.

I cleaned mine out the other day and it stuck open at 3000rpm but sorted itself out eventually.

Yours is probably stuck right open letting too much air into engine making it idle high.

try blocking the pipe going to it and see if it brings the idle down. When cold if you block it completely it will stall the engine
