Hey guys, i have a 91 TT with a 3inch exhaust and Haltech Piggyback computer. Made 184rwkw at 11psi and was running like a dream but one night just stopped boosting! I am lucky to see 3psi on my boost gauge and it drives like it has a 5mm restriction in the intake!

At first i assumed one of the turbos had disintegrated completely (or both) but it drives just like an N/A that doesn't want to rev. Also, there is (and haven't ever been) absolutely no harsh noises coming from the turbos. I have blown the exhaust wheel off a turbo before (S4 RX7) and the resulting noise and smoke was noticeable to say the least.

I'm expecting many of you to say pull off the intake etc and have a feel around but the car is my daily driver and i cant afford to have it off the road and seeing as its still perfectly drivable i haven't bothered until i finish collecting parts for my single turbo conversion.

So yeah just thought id throw this up as my searching hasn't found any other instances like this.

Thanks in Advance for your help.

INtercooler pipe come off, or blown turbo!

Check all the pipework, very common on TT's!

If a intercooler pipe has come off I don't believe he will be making 3psi of boost!

A. hose came off off (well clamp that is) can you still hear the turbo flutter sound when backing of the throttle? if not, the a hose most likely came off (happened to me when i first installed the progate.

B. or...sad to say but turbos are gone

Could be the little hose at the back of the rear turbo which runs off the big hose that runs along the back of the head. (if that makes sense :-) ) I have no idea what its called.

I left that undone one day and it hardly made any boost at all. Its a bit tight and hard to see though.
